having seen rose melberg play on friday night at the lovely luminaire, I can honestly say what you need to do is get yourself a copy of her new solo album, cast away the clouds, which is available on the oxford imprint where it’s at is where you are records. the vancouver-based singer-songwriter also eerily has not aged one minute in the decade-plus since I’ve seen her. (and I was just reminiscing about the time the softies came to new york and I took them to see the movie kids. I felt like a baaaad babysitter! and I am not what you might call a fan of larry clark or harmony korine at all. the softies wanted to see it! honest!)
