jens lekman split with el perro del mar "I don't know if she's worth 900 kr" (jens/secretly canadian): jens and his heavenly choir do it again, reminding us to forget reality and faithfully stick to the world of maple leaves, I mean, well, you know what I mean. what's 900 kroner for a girl in barcelona? well, it rhymes at least, so that's a good thing. time wasters need not apply. and long live long distance love. lupe

the occasional flickers rain until monday 7 inch, 2002 (!) (help ever hurt never): I don't know much about the occasional flickers but I like them. they make extremely catchy, pretty music for these dark seasons we live in. you'll want to know more about sophianna and vassilis too. I just love the way they sing, vocals so hushed, intimate and loud at the same time, kinda like singing to the top of your lungs whilst trying to move your mouth as little as possible and keeping everything under your breath. you'll think I'm crazy describing it like that, until you've heard. a little reminiscent of the cola jet set and other belle and sebastian-influenced trumpet & harmonica wielding indie party bands (for lack of better words). I hear it's sunny and hot as hell in greece in the summer, but who cares about that. it's far more interesting to hear t.o.f.'s singing that it rains until monday on the a-side, and all about that autumn chill on the b-side, with big mysterious smiles on their faces. lupe
