land ho!

the guys from buyolympia.com hired me to help open a store and art gallery in portland. less than two months after I started, it’s going to open! the store opens at 11am on fri oct 9 and the art gallery opens the same day at 6pm, with an exhibition by the stellar art star nikki mcclure, whose papercuts will be on display. the lovely signs – like the bear pictured – are being designed by tae won yu (kicking giant!) and it’s going to be a gorgeous store so come visit.

documentary bag.

our pal gilmore tamny (of the yips and wiglet fame) made this bag and filled it with goodies and snacks when kerthy and I were up in cambridge, mass., filming with claudia, shirley, chris ewen, etc. I meant to scan it ages ago but here you go!

autumn.

another reason we love autumn: the new clientele album’s coming out! also out now or soon: new rose melberg, richard hawley, and the verlaines!

ten years of atp.

we did one of the december ATPs once — in 2004 I believe, I covered it for Modern Painters magazine because it was curated by the Chapman Brothers — so I don’t recommended hanging out at Cambersands… wait, this one is at Butlin’s in Minehead, maybe it won’t be so grim. actually, ten years of all tomorrow’s parties has a nice looking line-up and the social aspect of these things does tend to outshine the surroundings.
